OMG OMG OMG!!!!

We got a call from our Project Manager today.  He scheduled our pre-drywall meeting for TOMORROW!!!!!!  Holy Cow!  I wasn't expecting that to be so soon!  He actually wanted to do it today, but didn't have enough time.  WAHOOOOO!

Anyone who has already finished building their house...how long was it after the pre-drywall meeting that your house was finished??  We've been told approximately 30 days!  YIKES!!!

A roof and garage door

Things are still moving along!  Even though they're moving fast, I wish they could move faster!  I am so anxious to move in and have more space.  And be closer to things.

This past week they finished the roof, started the plumbing, electric, and HVAC.  They also added our garage door!  And I must say, I'm impressed with the garage door.  Ryan Homes contracts with Hamburg Overhead Door which is a very reputable company in the area.  So, I am happy about that!

I'm eager to talk to our project manager soon to find out when we might have our pre-drywall meeting!

Windows!! And Doors!!! (and some Hmmm's...)

I am really starting to get so excited!  Things are coming together and it is really starting to look like our house!!

Some of my Hmmmm's...
It is SO strange to me the way the builders just leave the materials out.  Like the windows and doors.  It would be so easy for someone to come by at night and swipe that stuff!  I'm curious if/how often stuff like that happens.

My other Hmmmm...I'm slightly irritated that the construction site hasn't been as clean as I thought/hoped it would be.  There have been empty soda bottles left in the house, there has been pieces of Styrofoam (I'm assuming from windows?) floating around all over the lot - and going onto our neighbors yard!  Not cool.  And the most annoying...a half eaten hostess cupcake and half eaten sandwich randomly tossed on the ground outside the garage.  GROSS!!  And those have been there for 2 days!

Anyways...here are the most recent pictures!  The front was taken yesterday, the back today.  I have a feeling that soon we'll be at the point where we won't notice as many changes on the outside!

Front Porch

Random missing window...hmmm

Hope no one steals our windows...

More progress!

It has been so fun to watch our house go up!  I know that soon we won't be able to see the changes and progress because it will be on the inside.  I'm really anxious for our home to be finished so we can move in and get settled before the holidays!  Here are some pictures I took yesterday - looks like they're starting on the roof!

Oh and did I mention??

The fence has been moved!!!  6-12 inches on our property my ASS!  More like 2-3 feet!  But it's moved and that's all that matters.

We have a 2nd floor!

We stopped by the house today to see what was accomplished on Friday - as you can see, quite a bit!  Yay for a 2nd floor! They even put the stairs in.  I'm eager to see how it looks once the windows are in and the roof is on.

By the way...anyone else that is building...does your house seem so much smaller than what you originally thought?  It doesn't make any sense!  Our house will be over 2700 sq ft when finished, but when we're looking at it right now (and especially when it was just the foundation) it doesn't seem that big.

And another thing...I'm sort of on a Feng Shui kick in my life.  So of course I'm trying to apply it to the new house.  Here's my dilemma...I'm not sure how to place the bagua map on our house!!  Do I include the morning room?  If so, is it just considered an extension of an area or does my house end up with empty areas on the bagua??  Here's our floorplan...

What a difference a day makes!!

After stopping by the house yesterday, we weren't planning to stop again today. I didn't think there would be much progress! Imagine our surprise when our project manager called us this morning to let us know that the first floor of the house would be framed by the end of the day. WOW! So of course we had to go!! It is really exciting to see your house finally start to look like something more than a hole in the ground!

Foundation finished!!

We stopped by the house yesterday after signing some closing paperwork for our old house.  It looks like the foundation is finished, they put in all the drainage stuff, and are ready to put the beams in.

Day 4 Progress

Day 4 progress!!! I'm still really surprised at how much as already been done! I can't wait to see what happens next week. We also met our neighbors across the street. We were so happy to find out that there are a ton of kids in our neighborhood that are the same age as our kiddos!

Day 3 Progress.

I'm impressed!  I'm not sure what they did exactly but it looks like it might be my basement!  My hubby wasn't with me when I took the pictures.

And bonus - I met one of our new neighbors already!

And we have a hole!!!

Yay!!! We got a call from our PM today that they were breaking ground. We were SO excited! I can't believe the process has officially begun. We also got some more good news...our PM spoke with our neighbors and they said that they'd move the fence, no problem. They had someone install it for them, so they'll call them to move it. Good thing...we checked today and it's almost a foot on our property!!

Still no word on when we'll break ground.

I am getting IMPATIENT!!!  I just want some movement already!

We did go by our lot on Friday and saw that they've cleared it out.  That was exciting.

It also gave us the opportunity to scope out the neighbor's fence again.  It looks like they've planted trees/bushes on the inside of the fence already - so I'm sure moving it isn't going to be easy.  I'm eager to hear back from our project manager to hear how that is progressing.  A friend of mine who moved into a Ryan development about a year ago said that the fence thing happened a few times in her neighborhood and it didn't end up being a big deal.  Here's hoping!
